The Fokker F-27 Friendship is one of the most successful turboprop airliners, with over 800 aircraft built. Having first flown in 1955 it still serves with airlines throughout the world today.
AirUK F-27 is an unedited cockpit DVD of a regular AirUK passenger flight on 11th September 1991 from London Heathrow to Guernsey. Follow in real time every moment from Captain's briefing before start to engine shutdown.
Air UK started life in 1980 following the merger of Air West, Air Wales, Air Anglia and British Island Airways. The F-27 Friendship formed the mainstay of the company's fleet for many years. Following a takeover by KLM in the 1990s, AirUK was to re-emerge under the name KLMuk.
Later rebranded as Buzz in 2000 the airline was eventually to be fully
integrated into Ryanair's mainstream operations following a successful takeover in April 2003.
Over 20 minutes of aircraft movements at Heathrow are seen from the cockpit of the F-27 while taxiing. AirUK F-27 is an essential film for pilots, aviation enthusiasts and historians.
